This year, my daughter’s autumn break overlapped with Hive Fest, and since my family was also interested in Malaysia, we decided to travel together.
At last year’s Hive Fest 9, I remember there were one family with a baby and another whose kids were also posting on Hive. I thought then it would be nice if one day my own family could join too.
Although my daughter has an account called @monster.factory and my partner has @dachryzz (since 2016!?), they aren’t very active on Hive, so I was the only one attending the main Hive Fest.
While I was at the conference, they enjoyed sightseeing around the city, and on the second conference day—open to the public—they dropped by @ChainCulture, where both my partner and daughter loved the lush, green venue.
I plan to write more about the conference talks separately, but one the highlights of the Chain Culture day was meeting Pax and Polly from the famous NFT collection Pudgy Penguins. Not only my daughter, but I was also excited to see them.
We got so hooked that later that day we watched tons of Pudgy Penguins Instagram Reels together. They’re just too cute ☺️
I heard that it was @arcange inside Pax—so the photo I took with “Witness Pax” made a great souvenir.
Of course, the highlight of the trip for me was Hive Fest, but my partner—who used to be a professional track-and-field athlete—found a half-marathon to join. He left the hotel at 3 a.m. for a race that started at 4!
I woke up at 3 to see him off, and was relieved when he returned safely after finishing the run in 28 °C heat and 85 % humidity.
If Hive Fest happens to overlap with my daughter’s autumn break again next year, I’m already imagining another “family trip meets festival and race”—me at the Fest, my partner at the race!
By the way, this year the witness @sagarkothari88 from India also brought his wife and son, so maybe for those who think “it’s hard to join Hive Fest with kids,” it could actually make a perfect family trip!
今年は子供の秋休みとHive Festが重なって、家族もマレーシアに興味があるということで、みんなで一緒にきました。去年のHive Fest 9には私が覚えている限り、赤ちゃん連れの家族が1組、子供もHiveに投稿しているという家族が1組来ていて、いつか我が家も家族で来られたらいいなと思っていたのでした。
子供は @monster.factory、相方は @dachryzz というアカウントを持っているものの、そこまでHiveでアクティブではなく、メインのHive Festに参加するのは私のみ。彼らは日々観光を楽しみつつ、オープンだったカンファレンスデー2日目の @ChainCulture に遊びに来て、緑でいっぱいの会場を相方も子供も気に入っていました。
カンファレンスデーのトークについてはまた別途書く予定ですが、Chain Cultureの会場にはPudgy PenguinsのマスコットのPaxとPollyがいて、子供だけでなく私もテンションが上がりました。
あまりにはまって、この日は一緒にひとしきりPudgy Penguinsのインスタグラムのリール動画を見まくってしまいました。かわいい・・・☺️
Paxの中にはどうやら @arcange さんが入っていたらしく、ウィットネス入りのPaxと撮った写真はいいお土産です。
今回の旅の私のハイライトはもちろんHive Festですが、元プロの陸上選手の相方はどこかからハーフマラソンを見つけてきて、朝の4時に始まるレースに合わせて3時にホテルを出て行きました・・・。私も一度3時に起きて見送って、無事気温28度・湿度85%の中、完走して帰ってきてホッとしました。
来年もHive Festが子供の秋休みと重なったら、私はFest、相方はレースな家族旅行を計画したら楽しいかもともう考え始めています。
そうそう、今年はインドのウィットネスの @sagarkothari88 さんもお子さんを連れて家族で来ていて、「子供がいるからなかなか」という人も家族旅行にしてみんなで遊びにきても楽しいかもしれませんよ！
