What is it about flowers?

in Silver Bloggers2 years ago (edited)

Please bear with me as I am in a pondering thoughtful philosophising mood. Is it just me or is there something inexplicably magical about flowers?

They touch hearts, fill souls to the brim and communicate love.

When did you see and feel the beauty of flowers? (Perhaps you never have, now that is a sad thought.)

When did you hear them whisper softly in your heart?

Maybe you started randomly picking flowers at 2 years old attracted by the shape and colour. Perhaps you grew up with pretty colourful flowers in the garden and watched your mother filling the house with vases full of flowers? Or perhaps receiving a bunch of flowers was the start of your love affair?

Be prepared for a forever love affair with the beauty, love and appreciation of nature's many blooms. It just happens, it did with me and I am still attempting to explain how and when. Bloom magic has to be what flowers are all about.

All the while petals and leaves radiate goodwill and happiness into kitchens, lounge rooms and bedroom working their magic, as we soak up the energy as much as we can. Getting up close and personal provides that extra little boost.

Giving is made so worthwhile when seeing the immediate smile light up a face, tears in the eyes, heartfelt gratitude expressed. The magic of flowers, nature's miraculous gift, a little gesture easy and sweet. It is the contagious boost, both addictive and heart warming.

Flowers are highly versatile for all kinds of reasons and situations; for joyful wedding celebrations, when we go to dinner, when babies enter the world, when a friends gets sick or for more sombre occasions when friends/ family pass over to the other side. Flowers are apt for any and all occasions or for no occasion at all.

And most remarkably the growing, arrangement and giving off flowers are not a modern day phenomena at all. The Egyptians, Romans and Greeks grew and tended flowers a lot of centuries ago. All through history flowers have contributed greatly to people's lives, we are just continuing the long tradition in today's world.
History

But now, a #silverblogger I am totally enamoured with flowers. I love giving flowers. but am not hesitant treating myself to flowers, a fully fledged #alwaysaflower girl. Cutting a bunch from the garden or buying some from the grocery store are common practices. I cannot resist taking home pretty blooms with my weekly grocery shopping. It puts a smile on my dial. Arranging flowers in a vase is as important as stacking the pantry. How simple and beautiful life has become as I grow older.

Flowers have certain inexplicable charms that draw us to them :)

These are beautiful photos and flowers by the way :)

Hi @farmgirl, this was a post that I had to get out of my mind. Flowers are such a personal thing aren't they = beautiful, fragile and healing. 🌹

You had it going well :) I loved the flow of the words on the post.

Yes... flowers are that, they do give us better perspectives :)

They do indeed, I really love them around whether it is in a vase or in the garden. But, then I don't think I am unique, only one of many flower lovers. The funny irony I never identified myself as flower power girl in the 70's at all. I am certainly a late bloomer, hahaha.

Not much late I think :) Just like flowers that bloom at different seasons, we do to hehe. Perhaps it's the best time for you and you appreciate them better :)

Hahaha, it is definitely an evolving appreciation that goes from enjoying them to a deeper level of passion.

And that is even better :)

They sure are, Angie. No words are needed when flowers are given.

I am full of words Jo but there are definitely times when flowers do the talking. Usually the very sad moments in life.

These words are beautiful, the meaning behind them touches that place inside. You have definitely made a place in this world, one of your own, so blindly in love with nature that the words just flow straight out of your heart.

I can feel your words, that personal relationship, allows you to be connected in many ways only known to those that believe in the magic. The bouquets are charming!!❤️

Your words...

Le sigh.

You are such a sweet soul Denise, always supportive and kind with your words. Always appreciated. thank you.💝
I love the freedom of descriptive words rhythmically flowing from my mind when I let go of sentence structure from my years of writing assignments and clinical reports. I am a forever work in progress.

A beautiful work in progress. XO

❤️

What a beautiful post, I love your thoughts. this year I wanted to fill my life and my spaces with flowers. my blog has been full of flowers with my crafts and I have wanted to give flowers to my loved ones. for me they transmit more than beauty, behind them there is a gesture full of love.

What beautiful words @carolinacarddoza. Picking flowers from the garden is so convenient on the spur of the moment urge to give flowers. It does not have to be a big bunch, just a a pretty arrangement in the odd glass jar tied with a ribbon. 🌼
