The terrible heat of the day has melted my brain!
I don’t want to do anything.
I can’t think with my head.
And I don’t want to write a blog either! I don’t even know what to write about... 😀
I want to get in a big tub of ice and sit there for a long time 😉

Let me tell you a little bit about the sights of the city I live in.
I will write about one unusual «monument». It is installed on the playground of our city park.
This is a monument to three characters of a children’s story about Cheburashka, Crocodile Genu and Old Woman’s Shapoklyak(oh, if only a translator from Russian to English could handle these names) 😺
Now I’m going to talk a little bit about these characters that were very popular with the children of the Soviet Union.
Unfortunately, today’s Russian children do not read enough of this fairy tale and do not know the characters...
So in 1966 the Soviet writer Eduard Uspensky wrote for children a book «Crocodile Gena and his friends».
There are three main characters in this book.
Crocodile Gena. Funny crocodile wearing a coat. Likes to play the harmonica and sing songs.

Old Woman Shapoklyak. She’s really mean and mean, and she’s always doing something nasty.

Well, the most unusual hero is an animal called Cheburashka!

What kind of animal - nobody knows. In nature such «Cheburashek» does not exist.
Cheburashka has big ears and brown fur on his body.
In the book about these three heroes there are many adventures of Crocodile Gena, Cheburashki and Old Woman Shapoklyak.
I will not tell about the plot.
Because I’m not talking about the book, I’m talking about the monument to these heroes!
In our city long ago, in the time of the USSR, sculptures of Crocodile Gena, Cheburashka and Old Woman Shapoklyak were installed in the city park.

And this is the mean Old Woman Shapoklyak! But she’s pretty here.
Near Crocodile stands Cheburashka!
Look how cute he smiles ☺️
The children of our city really love these sculptures! Next to the monument, parents and babies go out all the time.
They take pictures to remember Crocodile and Cheburashka.
