My Rose Arch 2 Years after Planting

in Silver Bloggers11 months ago

( EN / DE ) It is now two years since I planted my roses, which I had dug up in the garden in Bavaria, here in Graz at this rose arch and the arch becomes more and more beautifully overgrown.
Some have smiled at me at the time, a rose you can buy again, right? Well, not quite right, because there are so many differences and many old varieties you actually no longer get.

The above photo here is from May 29 and the others from today, June 4. There you can see very nicely how quickly they have all bloomed. A few days and everything shines in the most beautiful colors. Nature is a miracle.
Das obere Foto hier ist vom 29. Mai und die anderen von heute, 4. Juni.

This pink rose, for example, has one outstanding feature: it smells just like a dream rose. Yes, many of these plants do, but if you dry these petals, the leaves retain the scent for months and so you can preserve it for the winter, a bath or a bowl of fragrance. And this is not the same for every variety of rose.
It has really "nasty" thorns, but its scent is worth getting pricked every now and then.

This orange rose, on the other hand, smells wonderfully like lemon while it blooms, but it loses most of the scent when you dry it. Nevertheless, it is wonderful to look at and brings good mood in the garden. In addition, it changes its color, the more it blooms, the brighter it becomes.

Between all the roses this columbine feels very comfortable. So pretty plants, especially before they bloom they look very interesting and from below just fabulous.

Yet another that does not smell much, but has a very nice shape.

My clematis is now growing at the front side. I have transplanted it recently, because it apparently had too little sun at the far end. But here it feels comfortable and I hope it will bloom soon and show its beautiful purple color.

And behind it, protected in the penumbra of the roses are these fantastically delicious little wild strawberries, of which now the first just right to the "strawberry moon" (The name of this full moon of the Native Americans) ripe for eating.

So every plant is something special and all the greater is my joy that they have finally rooted so well and are blooming beautifully even without watering.

This was my #sublimesunday post for @c0ff33a and also a #beautifulsunday post for @ace108. I hope you enjoyed the journey under the Rose Arch :-) Yours, B.

Great roses must say, and wild strawberries, yumi :)

In case we meet one day, I should bring some of the little stawberry plants. They grow almost everywhere and are so yummi

O, thank you, I have them everywhere ... but you must be careful, at least at us, there is one plant similar to wild strawberries, and it's not edible https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potentilla_indica

Oh, and one more thing, we pick wild strawberries in the woods and meadows, but you have to be careful because snakes like to hang out under them.

Yes I know them they bloom yellow, but closer look they look different to strawberries

They look heavily beautiful and I can't just get enough of the orange color rose.

They are gorgeous B, funnily enough, I was just talking about roses the other day with Mrs T and saying that they have lost a lot of popularity, years ago that was the only plant you would see in many front gardens, now they are rare!

Really? I see a lot of them here! Maybe its because they need more care and people no longer have time for such things as "useless beauty" ?
!LUV

It is older people that still have them from what I have seen.
Now it is all about instant gratification.

Okay.... 🤣 Something we probably dont feel and like to speak out, that we are becoming older Generation now. Inside still 28 🤣❤️

Oh god yes, kids of today haha

Roses are gorgeous, and I wonder which you prefer, German or Austrian roses!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful rose arch @beeber and have a wonderful week smelling those roses!

Thats the great things with Roses! No nationality, they are all equal and peaceful (hm ok... Except the thorns. But self defence still can be peaceful)

I like orange roses)) of course all of them are beautiful but orange roses seems more beautiful for me))

Your garden is beautiful, with plenty of places to just sit in the shade and relax or read! I don't envy you all the work it must take to make it so though ;)

Very nice. Looks like the 2 years of work paid off.

Happy you liked it and thank you for the mention in your post :-)

Wunderbar !
:-))
