I imagine we all as children think about how it is to be an adult and wish that we could be older. Then as we age we only wish we could be a young child again like you said, with no responsibilities or worries. However, we do have knowledge that we can pass on to the younger ones and watch them grow and that is a joy unto itself. I do hope you are able to have your surgery eventually.
It's nice to be able to share our experiences without imposing anything on them, so that they know the origin of things and value the present.
We lived in an important time that allowed us to see transcendental changes, we have a lot to tell and contribute.
