Well, There Went January — How Time Flies!

in Silver Bloggers3 years ago

I just noticed that the calendar on my computer rolled over from month "1" to month "2." Wow! That was fast... wasn't it just New Year's Eve?

As a friend of mine always used to say: "Time flies... whether you're having fun, or not." That seems like a fact!

In retrospect, I suppose January turned out pretty well. Let's start with the fact that the "bleeding crypto markets" seemed to finally stop bleeding. I'll be the first to admit that 25-cent Hive was starting to make me a little nervous. Not that I don't have faith in Hive, but I have seen really good projects lose 99% of their value.

I didn't make New Year's Resolutions, but decided that my "theme" for 2023 would be to become a little more goal oriented than I have been in the past.

The thing about not setting formal goals is that you end up "guessing" a lot of the time, and then a lot of things you really must be doing start to slip through the cracks.

In truth, the whole "goal orientation" includes both myself and Mrs. Denmarkguy, who has also been working on things to help simplify her life, and our lives.

As I have often written about, we have "too much stuff" and we need to get rid of a lot of it, particularly in view of the fact that we want to (eventually) move to a smaller space. But there's also a psychological benefit, but there's this strange way in which our clutter can feel like a psychological weight.

You know, you sit around and think "I really need to get such-and-such done" but then you decide not to because there's too much effort involved in cleaning the work space you need.

Goals Can Be What We Want Them To Be!

Part of my "goal" for the year is actually to not do certain things... specifically, to not keep trying to take on more new projects when I don't even have enough time and energy to stay on top of the existing projects!

Sure, part of such a tendency can be attributed to "ADHD"... or the fact that so many things around me seem interesting. That's fine. They can be interesting, but just because they are doesn't mean that I have to immerse myself in them!

It's a hard lesson (goal) for someone who wants to pursue a little bit of everything.

Why not just do what I want? Well, because we can't afford it. Financially, I mean. If you're always starting something, it's not actually up and running. Most things are income producing when they are up and running. See the problem?

Anyway, January turned out pretty well, and I have not found myself frustrated and/or resentful for not being able to veer "off course" whenever I felt like it.

And now... onward into February, and the challenge of whether or not I can make it two months in a row!

Time is running more fast... Every month is like 1.25x faster than previous one..

Let's start with the fact that the "bleeding crypto markets" seemed to finally stop bleeding.

True, second highest return in crypto in month of January... And hopefully it will keep going.

Hive at 0.25$ was too low and Glad it did made Good comeback along with market.

Wish you luck on Goals... I believe you'll make it happen.

Hopefully this month will be as Good as January.

Time runs so fast. I was even surprised that we are now in February 😀. I'm happy last month went well.

What is this talk about an interesting thing and NOT completely immersing oneself into it and devoting all your time, money and energy to it while abandoning all previous interests!?
