I am sad at many things and for many reasons and it's such a very disquieting place to be, that place of helplessness and hopelessness, you want to do things to create a change in course but then your voice is drowned out before you even speak, your opinions don't count, never take wings. You can't make a difference no matter how hard you try, this really makes me sad. It's been a heavy burden to carry, feeling unheard and powerless to bring about the changes I hope for, the ones desperately required.
"She was covered in grime
Her teeth was all I could see
But beneath all that dirt
Beneath her cracked little feet
True beauty lay
In soft shades of Pink
She's a girl I won't forget
For she stood there
Dejected and broken
With a story scarring"
I'm sad at the gross abuse of girls and children by the same people who are supposed to be their protégé. It is heartbreaking and infuriating to see the very same people who have been given the responsibility of protecting and nurturing children and young girls become their sources of pain and agony. "A Judas In The House" is what I term it! This betrayal of trust is one of the greatest injustices that leaves me in tears, and it leaves scars that can last a whole lifetime, taking away their right to life and good living.
I was Grandma's girl, protected, tenderly nurtured and loved, I never was in that horrible place of abuse, just pure Love... Just simple pure Love!
Then I remembered a day in the past
When I was grandma's little girl
I was wild and free
Like the Land that birthed me
Nurtured and nourished
So no hand could harm
But this one hurts
With a thousand tears
In her red widened eyes
All innocence brutally taken
When these ones are unfairly treated, how do they thrive and realize their God-given potentials? And if they are not able to realize and actualize potentials, is that not a colossal loss to the whole of humanity?
This one also makes me so sad! Inequality in humanity is a trend that is disheartening because I value justice and fairness, but this is missing in all spheres of our lives and in all cultures worldwide. How did Man become so chauvinistic, sidelining equity and humanity, rather choosing oppression and exploitation? I am indeed sad!
I see the events ongoing
How far apart the rich
Is from the poor...
Why is it that the gap remains ever
As two parallel lines?
Starvation rules the day
And many wonder what life's worth
It's really so sad
This inequality in humanity...
But this is stark reality
That they have none while others hoard,
Deprived, many from gutters feed.
All humans should be treated equally and fairly for we are all one, under this vast sky, equal rights, equal access to the fundamentals, a fair chance to succeed and equal distribution of resources. Infact I'm advocating for a World of equality, free from all the disparities that abound, not stark, dark, rotten inequality!!!
I am sad when the aged and elderly are shut away in care homes, I feel as if they are being discarded or seen as a burden. My grandparents lived with us during the most vulnerable periods of their lives because we value family bonds and we do not fail to recognize their sacrifices towards us. They are the reason we live! So the respect, care and honour which they deserve should be accorded them, these people who raise generations, deserve much much more than being shut away, to slowly disintegrate.
I remember the memories of my youth
When she once led the way
With sure sturdy steps
And treated ever so tenderly
With those hands now frail
She is not to be caged
Because she's old and ailing
Because she's slowly
Closing the page of her life
And facing the setting Sun
The hands once strong
Would lay on my head to bless
With loving memories taken
As she steps beyond the veil
I sure would be proud I loved her back
.... the same
I feel so much empathy for these group of people who represent humanity at its most vulnerable, and any form of injustice to them, is to those that are too weak to strike back, those that are defenseless, those unable to advocate for themselves, except shed stinging tears in their most secret places. And the truth be told, any harm against these, points to societal failure, I don't even care how civilized a society might claim to be.

All images are my own authorship!
The first image depicts the pensive mood of my daughter the day a child-victim of rape in my neighbourhood was being taken to the hospital, I would rather leave out the sordid details.
The second image is of my parents during the Church Thanksgiving Service of my Mom's 75th Birthday. They are ageing but I wouldn't even comprehend the thought of putting them away in a care home. This is the time they need family the most!
This is in response to an initiative of @ericvancewalton, to make us walk down memory lane and relive those moments long gone, keeping them alive for our future generations. Indeed we are making great progress!

I am @edith-4angelseu and thank you for stopping by my neighbourhood.
You are brave to share all of that. Take care of yourself. You clearly have a big heart, but you need to protect it from constant pain in order to live life fully. Try to find some joy and gratitude in each day. It will help you to cope when those feelings threaten to overwhelm you!
Thank you very much, sometimes one sees stuffs like these happen again and again, wounds are reopened.
All those things that you mention makes me sad also.😐
😔
The world can be very harsh and many things can make us sad, but I think the idea is to make a difference, to be different from those who do evil. Sadness is natural, but keeping quiet and accepting injustice is not. Always raise your voice and let it be heard. Greetings
I do try to make a difference whenever I can.
Thank you.
Life can be so hard for some. Inequalities are all around us but if we can make a difference we have to try.
Thank you for your entry to the contest.
Thank you very much 🙏
It was nice having you here!
You are welcome:) Have a great weekend!
You too!

Thank you for your entry Edith! It's sad how some people in the world take advantage of the kind-hearted. Standing up to that and not letting people steal your kindness is a triumph. Take care of yourself and enjoy the weekend!
Thank you very much Eric! It was really so nice having you here 🙏
Poetry between the lines most fitting, life comes with too much sadness to many. How we manage to lift above pitfalls, molds up into who we strive to be.
Aggressive behaviour toward woman and children a scourge in our land, where you find sadness, I find anger.
Witnessing a little girl most probably one of the first allowed adoption in our country over colour barrier, brought up, educated into a lovely young lady. Always bubbling nature, delighted assisting her Mom in the pet shop they had, friendly to all, one disappeared without trace around age of eighteen. This precious bundle had been abandoned in hospital, when Mom visited her husband who at the time was extremely ill asked after this little one to learn her fate, went ahead to adopt in early 1990s. Owner of shop in our little town went to her death bed many years later never knowing what truly happened to her adopted little girl, she did have two daughters grown who assisted in trying to hunt down any lead they could follow, alas this makes me angry as many more young ones suffer this same/similar fate!
Your parents appear to still enjoy all their faculties I agree why place them in a home? !LUV
@edith-4angelseu, @joanstewart(1/10) sent you LUV. | tools | discord | community | HiveWiki | <>< daily
It's really so saddening, all of these and it appears there's no end in sight.
Thank you so much Joan for looking in and how is your man doing?
