Now and then in the world of music - #SB Chronicle - Prompt 5

in Silver Bloggers3 months ago
Hello again, Dearest silverbloggers! 🌺

We got an interesting topic for this week's prompt!

If you would have to choose, are you a Beatle or Rolling Stoner? 😁 And/or what was your very first music album you bought yourself?

And here's my response to our latest prompt.

Reading this post brought a smile to my face, as it brought back lots of memories with my dad and my brothers.

I grew up in a household filled with music, waking up each morning to the sound of it. Without a doubt, I align myself with the camp that my three favorite men in my life love to embrace.

The first song that captured my heart is "Till There Was You." I can’t pinpoint exactly why it resonates with me, but my eldest brother, Erick, played it on his guitar while we sang along. He always had endless patience for my voice, which is definitely best suited for the shower!

I sang that song countless times with him until I moved on to love "Here, There, and Everywhere" and "In My Life"

Now, regarding the first music album I bought for myself, it’s important to note that I didn’t really have that experience earlier on because my brothers had already amassed a comprehensive collection at home. Elmer, my second brother, in particular, has always been a passionate collector.

The first album I purchased wasn’t for me; it was for Elmer, and I bought it just last Christmas.

Searching for it was quite the challenge! Considering Elmer’s extensive collection, I had to be strategic in finding something he didn’t already have. I collaborated with his kids to pinpoint the perfect album.

My dad was the one who introduced music into our lives. I clearly remember my parents dancing to "Twist and Shout."

So, it’s official: In my life... my heart belongs to The Beatles, from the moment I discovered music until now. Although I listened to The Stones' music before writing this, my loyalty lies with Paul, and yes, I would gladly let him hold my hand, and no matter how much he says goodbye, I'll keep on saying hello.

And even if some forever is not for better... they will be my forever. You know... the influence of your family lasts a lifetime. I know, I understand that I need to find my own music but for now, I'll just let it be, as I feel fine and I'm enjoying the sounds that I grew up with.

Here comes the sun! I should post this now, so please don't let me down.

I'll park my pen for now and will continue listening to their songs. Have a great week, everyone!

And if you reach here... Thank you... for the time that you spent reading my write-up.

Music is capable of transporting us to significant moments in our lives. Who doesn't know The Beatles? At least who is alive now, hehe. They are part of the collective culture of the generations that have succeeded them, something that very few can boast of. I don't know all their songs, I'm one of those who fell in love with them with their number one compilation, and thanks to your publication I've discovered a couple of little gems to add to my playlist. I love to be writing this comment while humming that "Twist and shout" after a long time. I can imagine how excited you were to find that record for your brother's collection and how happy he was when he received it. Thanks for this amazing post, I enjoyed so much.

Thanks for reading @palomap3! That's why I like their music, it is easy to hum and easy to understand.

Yeah I was so excited when I'm looking for that album that I bought for my brother since it's the first time I scanned albums in the shop and found a lot of gems that I can keep too.

Music is life. It always brightens everyone's mood. Thanks for sharing

so true... music can alter once mood actually. Thanks for reading

So far, I've only seen posts about The Beatles, and to be honest, I thought it would be The Rolling Stones who would get all the attention. They're good too, but that must be because The Beatles are so romantic and have so many famous songs. From the Rolling Stones, I only remember ¨Angie¨ y "Sympathy for the Devil," since I was really impressed by the title of the song and a bit by the lyrics. Welcome to the Beatles club.

Am trying to listen to the rolling stones songs before and after writing my post but I think I still like the Beatles more. I can't seem to appreciate their music but you're right, the Angie song is nice, but not really impressed.

thanks for reading!

I only listen to the music but didn't know who are singing it. That's I don't have idea which one belongs to who😬

Hahahaha am like that too but when it comes to beatles I learned about them and their song because of my family and am really not the fan type haha

Music IS Key to Harmony ...
Music IS Key ...
Music IS ...
LIGHT

music brings people together :D

I can't believe it took you so long to buy an album Eylz!
John Lennon put me off the beatles, I liked the other three on their own.

hahaha why would I buy when there are lots of albums at home... and besides, I think I haven't found my own music yet.

hehe fair enough, as I was at boarding school as a teenager I didn't have the luxury of listening to albums at home unless in the summer holidays...
