For my generation, and even for yours, the radio had a huge impact on the development of musical taste. I don't think my granddaughter ever listens to the radio.
I got my first stereo when I started working as a teacher. I was in my twenties. Before that, I could only listen to music on small, battery-powered radios.

That's right. I remember there was a program called "Solo para pareja" (Just for Couples), from 6 to 8 at night, and you could call in to have them play (please) the music you wanted to dedicate to someone else. Every time they played a song I liked, I'd start copying the lyrics. That was the only way I knew how to learn it. Oh, because Dad wouldn't let us play the songs on the LPs on repeat because we'd scratch it. Hahaha. We have so many anecdotes, my friend. Sending you a big hug from Cumaná!
