RE: A happy holiday, caring and loving parents

Too many take it for granted that all will be fine, having friends with a child with special requirements, you start understanding how much it affects a family.

Some of our beaches have made wheelchair access easier, it is wonderful to see families all together enjoying holidays or a day out on the beach. Some special care homes arrange to take wheel chair bound people to the beach and it is a wonderful sight.

Later in life when your own children are adult, you cast your mind back to the absolute joy and innocence the young ones bring along with them.

We have charity organisations that arrange for children wheelchair to go to the beach with the Surf Lifesaver Clubs that occasionally become a part of the nightly News. But, I like the idea of wheelchair access on beaches as some little ones and big ones cannot walk at all let alone adults. There is a beach here at the Sunshine Coast that rolls out a long mat.
We don't have the bigger Government run homes anymore, they were all closed down. Now there are community homes in neighbourhoods for adults. But, if parents are not coping or the 'child' is highly aggressive and a danger to siblings they can hand the child with a disability over to Children Services.

Little ones are so much fun to watch with the decorations, but I had to save one of my pottery 'kings' when the 3 year old was having a pretend crash game!

Non profit organizations arrange floating wheelchair accessibility in our province, the mat system I believe is used in the Cape Province.

People are very much more aware that wheelchair bound folks also enjoy a dip in the ocean every now and again.

This would take effort on the part of the family/communities to arrange to get people to/from the beach after making arrangements/booking.

Our government to the best of my knowledge do not run many homes as was the case in previous years, most are NPO/NGO setup.

Thank you for you luv, you are very kind @joanstewart❤️
