Pity the fruit was stung really does damage and makes life more difficult to work with. Meal looks good, tantalizing tastes mixing sweet with salty.

Never used pears with ham, normally granny-smith apples, something new to try although sweeter. Red Kuri I have seen but never tried, so many different varieties pop up on shelves we should use.

Thanks, Joan. This was a new way for me to think about pears. I liked it. Just as I was "stretched" to try a new squash!

Texture plays a big part, very seldom enjoy pears, use calabash, butternut, gem squash more often than not. Trying something different always a gamble.
