I am so sorry I didn't keep my full collection of maps, used to love seeing places and imagine what they're going to be worth a stop! It is nice checking out reviews on Google maps before going, and not getting lost, but it takes away the sense of discovery!
Unfortunately as you say it is a dying industry. The last few years in my working life, I worked in our municipality's GIS department where we captured geographical features, so, maps are very important to me. The rate that street and place names change is no fun!
Thank heavens for spellcheck, I also used it to check.
I still need to handwritten something for that community.
