RE: Have you stood at an edge of a choice in your life that offers two diverging paths pulling your heart in different ways?

Very nice to read, @sanjeevm, of the choice you faced and your final decision. While I can imagine the period of doubts and uncertainty, you chose your child over your job. Which speaks well for you and your values.

God answered your prayers:

"A US guy, who was very straight forward like me, became so emotional that he told me there is no need to leave the job. You can take all the equipment that is necessary and the office will even sponsor the set up of a home office and I can work from home - he had full trust on me. WFH was barely a concept in India then - I could not hold my tears - this meant a lot - I could not have asked anything better from life."

Working from home has its pros and cons, like most things in life. They shape us and make us better. Make us stronger. Ultimately, it will all work together for good. The pictures of your family clearly reinforce that, at least in the eyes of your readers.

There is no question to me:

"I am determined to give him my best, irrespective of the challenges that I face."

You have made the right decision. Life has its ups and downs. You will likely have doubts, at times. Long-term, however, I believe you will come to have full assurance, if you don't already, that you did the right thing.

Ideally, confirmation will come from your son growing up and telling his father that himself.
