'Blue and green should never be seen, unless there's a colour in between' said Jamie's Nan.
Sorry, Nan, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Because, um, sky and forest? Ocean and sky and forest? The most calming, beautiful colours to be surrounded by, that soothes my soul? Ain't no colours I'm putting in between blue and green!
If you ask for my favourite colour, I'll mostly say green - forest green, kale green. A dep, rich, nature green - fern fronds and gum leaves. It's THE colour of nature, and I love wearing it in winter, where I spend a lot of time in the forest. My best friend just knitted me a deep green scarf, thick and luscious.
I tell my grandson Ned my favorite colour is green. His is blue. That makes sense. I talk to him about the blue sky and the green forest. That makes perfect sense to a 2.5 year old.
The great blue ocean 🌊 is my favourite blue of course, but depending on the depth of the water or the light it can be green.
Blue is the moon, sometimes, and my heart on sad days.
Green is also our Land Rover. She can hide in the forest.
Green is my longboard. I love her THIS much. She floats on the blue green of the ocean 🌊 ... And so does my stand up SUP, sliding down a green faced wave...
Green is mushrooms and moss.
It's also baskets of apples 🍏 , silver beet and lettuce and 🥦 broccoli and broad beans.
Blue and green, I say to Jamie's Nan, should always be seen.
But which is my favourite?
This post is in response to Silver Bloggers Chronicle Challenge #1. Looking forward to more inspiration from them on Mondays! Thanks team!

Well I remember hearing that saying as a kid in some of our fishing villages. Green was considered unlucky to some of the fishermen and never would you see a green fishing boat. I was told it was bad luck because if a boat capsized then it would be harder to spot against the blue water and make rescuing fishermen harder. Fishing was hard enough with mother nature and the sea, but no idea about the something in between saying of Jamie's nan!
Green is a hard one, it is the colour of our hated rivals but as you say it is so prevalent in nature.
Blue and Green are the two colours of nature. I do love British racing green and the old Landrover Defender green, abd damn aren't Landrovers and Rangerovers soulless and fluffing ugly now!
Your favourite ... well it depends if you are out riding the surf or hiking the hill!
Blue and green are also my favorite colors! And for all the reasons you said.
💙 💚💙 💚💙 💚
Sometimes grandmothers have sayings that even they don't understand. But I agree with those colors, because we would have to live in a GRAY country not to appreciate all the beauty of both of them. Thank you for sharing with the community.
We are lucky indeed...
If Green is your favorite, then you can adjust to any situation, no complaint.
That makes sense as I'm quite adaptable!
You're a green girl through and through, @riverflows! But also blue, for the ocean. Your stunning photos make me long for it - to hear it, see it, and feel the spray!
Lovely response to this week's Chronicles, thank you for participating.
Oops, that was me responding from hive-106316😉 So nice to read your response @riverflows! Who was the surfer there? Gorgeous waves!
Awe. I'd have thought blue would be your choice as you have such deep love for the sea. But, your love for plants is even stronger it seems! Love learning new things :) 💚💙
Dunno why but as I get older, I enjoy the color of green. They always look so refreshing and easy to look at. Blue is growing on me too 😄 oh, how I miss the ocean!
I think we definitely go through colour phases!!
My heart lightens, with a smile, each mention of Ned and how happy he must make you. ✌️😎
