Lunch at the Pho Linh

It’s Thursday, 12th of December and I am sitting at the Pho Linh Vietnamese Restaurant.

Today is another day without work, but it’s a chance to relax, regroup and tidy up around my small one bedroom unit.

I’ve just ordered a Chicken Banh Mi and a Combination Laksa and a bottle of Nippy’s Sparkling Mineral Water.

The drink has zero calories and no sugar and is locally made.

I stopped drinking both Pepsi Max and Coke No Sugar a few months ago because I no longer want to support those companies.

They own bottled water and potato chip companies too, which makes it difficult to completely boycott them.

It didn’t take long for my meals to arrive and I was even given a cookie with a Christmas greeting on it. The restaurant will closed for a week over Christmas and this was a very friendly gesture.

This morning I had a blood test to monitor my type 2 diabetes. It not only affects my blood sugar levels but can also cause a Vitamin B12 deficiency. I now take Vitamin B tablets every day along with my other medication.

I am now at home putting the finishing touches on this post. I’m typing this while laying on my bed and I had a sneezing fit that went for at least 10 times.

I’m a little exhausted.

Now to finish off the rest of season 6 of What We Do In The Shadows. It’s a hilarious comedy about vampires in modern times.

Then I am going to watch FROM, a horror TV series.

That’s all from me today, but if you want more please consider watching my YouTube channel here:

Thank you for reading.

Have a great day.

Sort:

We’ve stopped drinking Pepsi Max, in fact fizzy pop altogether for concerns over diabetes etc. I’m not missing it and opting for bottled water instead.

Blood tests, I’m very familiar with them being a kidney transplant patient of nearly two decades!

Take care!

Thanks for replying. Yeah, it's not easy but it's worth it.

You ordered delicious meal.

I laughed hard to you saying you stopped drinking Pepsi and coke because you don't support them.

In my understanding, they lied about the zero coke.

And for your health condition of type 2 dm.
You don't need those carbonated drinks.

They didn't lie about the zero sugar Coke. They could be sued for that.
Carbonation just adds a different taste. Water is too bland on it's own.
But you are correct, I don't need them.

Is it truly zero sugar with the sweeteners.
Or maybe it is different from the ones I see in my country.

I stopped supporting those companies because of their treatment of me and how petty they are in competition with each other, so they can both be denied my money.

😂😂😂😂
Oh that's your reason.

That food looks awesome especially the Combination Laska
