RE: Food Shopping in Inflationary Times

in Silver Bloggers2 days ago

We have a lot of Mrs Denmark guys in our family, nobody ever voluntarily goes shopping with me, and should I pull into a store parking lot while taking someone out and about, you'll hear large moans bursting out. I have to reassure them I am only running in for one thing and will be right back out.
Chops were on sale here last week but 1.99 a pound. I picked up two packs, got home, and they were huge. When I did shopping the other day, having already shopped several stores for bargains, I just had to stop for a couple more packs of those chops before wondering off home to wrap them up for freezer storage. It's almost Easter so that's why chops and bacon are an incredible bargain right now and the right time to stock up. I only bought six instead of seven, eight turkeys during Thanksgiving sales to make more room in the freezer for summer hamburger sales. Though I did manage two rolls stocked to the top last summer, think I may want to try for 21/1 to 3 the next go around since I take my step dad a couple pounds each time I go up there. That one's a trickier endeavor with limits you can buy at one time, and usually a need for one other family member to have a loyalty card at one store to accomplish max results. Having a freezer though is key, wish my step dad had one so I am not so limited on what I can bring to stock for him, on top of that he's real funny about not overloading his refrigerator freezer despite trying to tell him he just needs to keep the space clear where the slots are in the back. Your right, you got to get it when the getting's good, otherwise I can't imagine paying some of those prices, especially on meat.
