The rain finally stopped for a day, and we decided to get out and take Mika for a walk at the park that lies between Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario. It is a small stretch of land that our town purchased and created a lovely area to walk about. The above photo is looking out at Lake Ontario.

The sun may have been shining brightly, but the wind coming off the Lake was quite breezy. I'm glad we thought to wear heavy jackets just in case.

This cleaver artistic canopy offers a place to sit without getting too much sun or some rainfall. Often, I see people sitting in the chairs reading while enjoying the rolling waves on the rocks below.

Taking a stroll along the upper portion of the park's walkways, Mika greeted another dog walker with extreme excitement.

One thing that makes this such a pleasant place to stroll is the sidewalks throughout the entire park. It makes walking so easy compared to trekking over uneven ground.

If you just want to sit and relax there are plenty of benches where you can take a break and look out over the water. There are multiple picknick tables where you can enjoy lunch or morning coffee too.

The foliage on the trees was all changing to yellow and brown with leaves blowing every which way with the wind. Mika had fun chasing after a few as we walked along.

There was some Golden Rod scattered here and there and then there was a large area landscape with bushes that had these black berries on them.

Whomever did the landscaping along the paths did a very nice job. All the clusters of plantings offered some very pretty fall colors. This bee was enjoying the nectar it found on some remaining flowers.

Crossing over to the other side to walk along the bay the sky was full of clouds hiding the sun.

The cattails at the water's edge were all beginning to turn yellow. The sunlight glistening on the water was so pretty but hard to capture with my phone's camera.

By the time we walked both sides of the park we were getting cold with the strong wind.

Mika checking out the dock area where we often see people fishing. She was intrigued by the water and wasn't quite sure what to think of being on that dock. She quickly decided she had had enough and turned back to the path.

The sky started to get darker, and this tree looks so lovely against the sky.

Earlier this summer I took these photos of the lily pads in the bay. Some of them had yellow and white flowers but hard to see in the pictures.

Hopefully, we will find a few more nice days to bring Mika to the park for other outings before the snow starts to fly. Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for visiting.

The yellow tree against the dark clouds was so cool! I had no idea you were so close to Lake Ontario! No wonder you can start stuff outside before me. Being near too bodies of water would warm things a bit, I would think. It looks like Mika had a grand time.

The bay and lake are less than a mile from me. I literally am off the main road that goes along the bay. We always have a temperate climate because of the lake effect. It sure makes my growing season longer especially when I cover the cold frames with plastic. Would you believe we are still getting tons of raspberries and Swiss chard too. I may harvest the carrots next week though. It's almost over for the season. lol

There’s a few raspberries but they are mostly done. Swiss chard still doing well along with kale and mesclun.

Todas y cada una de tus fotografías son un espectáculo; me ha relajado y desearía visitar esos espacios. De todas mi favorita de los nenúfares, sueño con tener algún día un jardín acuático en el que pueda tener nenúfares.

Thank you so much! It was a beautiful day to walk along the bay.

That was a very productive and enjoyable walking. You were able to enjoy the nice landscape with the colorful place. The bay and the lake are near only and that was a perfect spot to enjoy walking while feeling the touched of the fresh air.
