Hello hello silver bloggers, music lovers and Hello hivers!
Inspiration don't you just love it? Today's inspiration comes from web2! Not mine actually, but Mrs T was on her insta and up popped a hit from yesteryear and she was laughing at how young they were. Because she thought they looked so old when she first saw them.
The movie that brought about the music was the newly released Tron Ares, whatever that is!
The band I had not listened for fluffing years!
So today we are having three songs from Depeche Mode!
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 234 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post Tom Waits (Heart Attack and Vine) for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 233 - win some HBI
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Depeche Mode are actually an influential electronic band and I have had fun looking or reading about some of their accolades!
Here was me thinking it was Vince Clark's band before he formed Yazoo and Erasure ... No No there is so much to them.
They were formed in 1980 in Basildon which is in Essex deep down in the south of England. Two core members Dave Gahan and chief songwriter Martin Gore still tour.
Their stats I have taken from wikipedia ...
Depeche Mode have had 54 songs in the UK singles chart.
17 Top 10 albums in the UK chart.
They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
Q included the band in its list of the "50 Bands That Changed the World!"
Depeche Mode also rank No. 98 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of All Time."
In 2016, Billboard named Depeche Mode the 10th Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists.
They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
If you have read down to here, then fair play to you and let's get this show on the road.

Kicking it off with the tune that sparked this ttt
Tune 1 - Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
Release Date: 7 September 1981 (Single)
Album: Speak & Spell (1981)
About the Tune: This is Depeche Mode in their original, pure synth-pop, pre-darkness phase and was written by founding member Vince Clarke. It's an incredibly upbeat, joyous, and catchy track that launched them into the top ten in the UK.
It perfectly captures the early 80s synth scene in the UK.

Tune 2 - Depeche Mode – People Are People
Release Date: 12 March 1984 (Single)
Album: Some Great Reward (1984)
About the Tune: A powerful protest song with an iconic industrial-electronic sound that defined their mid-80s style. Written by Martin Gore, the song touches on themes of empathy and intolerance, asking why people can't just get along. Its massive success in the US played a crucial role in breaking the band into the American mainstream.

Tune 3 - Depeche Mode – Enjoy the Silence
That chorus tho ...
All I ever wanted All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Release Date: 5 February 1990 (Single)
Album: Violator (1990)
About the Tune: Widely considered one of their greatest and most commercially successful songs. This iconic track beautifully balances melancholy with a driving electronic beat. Paradoxically, the song celebrates the power of silence in a world full of 'words like violence'—the quiet communion between two people is all that is needed. Martin Gore originally wrote it as a slow, emotional ballad before Alan Wilder suggested turning it into the anthemic classic we know.

So there you have it — my absolute bangers from Depeche Mode week.
Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

Good stuff. I need to take a deeper dive into them. They kind of slipped past me when I was younger. I am glad they made Enjoy the Silence more upbeat like they did. It works so well.
I was surprised just how much they did over the years. They even just released some music recently. Yes Enjoy The Silence is pretty upbeat as you say!
Oh wow, really? Still going strong eh?
I'd never heard those songs before. The 80's hairstyles and clothes took me back in time. ♥
Hehe those are very 80s hair and clothes lol!
Cool tunes there Tengo. Old school jamz always hit differently, don't they? 😅

You went back in time to dig up those lovely oldies. The first 2 was released before I got to earth 🌎 😃
Enjoy the Silence is the one favourite of Depeche Mode to me... what awesome lyrics, i agree!
Great picks!
Personally these are my fav by the band! ⬇️ But I’d def include Enjoy The Silence in my top three!
I find these two tracks are very underrated! Both from the 1987 album!
Depeche Mode - Behind the Wheel
Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again
