I saw all of the red flags and ignored them. That part is on me. It cost me quite a lot in terms of work and friendships.

Yes. I am not hyper critical of myself for it because, due to the experience, I have learned so much about my own psychology and various other hobbies as I strove to take my mind off of everything.
