RE: Ann's Life and Exploits. More than Just a Eulogy. A Strange Post to Return With.

Sorry to hear about 2024, your mum's passing and your health!
My mother had vascular dementia from diabetes and ended up passing away 6 months after my father, of what we are convinced was a broken heart.
People will say all sorts of things, sometimes the most comforting is just a touch on your elbow and no words. If there are no words to say, don't say anything.

I gave up smoking on Sept 8th 2022 and seeing your mam with her fag and drink I can still smell it!

Well hello Sir, great to cross paths with you, although it may feel like I am in a time paradox, due to the incredible tardiness in response, life's been, manic, strange and surreal.

Sadly, me and my lady are all too familiar with vascular dementia too, I do sincerely believe that when you have spent a lifetime with a partner, you kinda do want to go join them after losing them, that 'broken heart' hypothesis has always resonated with me.

I remember talking to you about quitting quite some time ago when I was posting about it... I was delighted to finally smash the 'quitting thing' on April 25th 2023, it was much easier than I envisioned...

HOWEVER... The day my Mam had the stroke, my first response was to tell my lady, I needed a cigarette!!!

I was ONLY gonna have 1, but I have now smoked again for almost a year (January 3rd.) I am targeting that same date to quit again compete with a mental frame of reference that if I can be a non smoker once, I can certainly bloody do it twice!!!

Sorry to hear that Hogmanay was cancelled, the fireworks at least!

Me and mine, wish you and yours all the love, joy and happiness that you could possibly want from the new year! 🙂
