After reading my friend @invinc's post about favourite childhood passions, I couldn't help but think back to my childhood and how privileged I was to have had so many passions. I was my mother's only child, so to keep me entertained, they always bought me different games. Of course, I always played with my cousins because they lived next door and we could always play at their house or mine, and I could even play by myself.
I remember I had many games such as bingo, ludo, and Chinese sticks. I loved these and could play them on my own. It's a shame I never saw them again because if I saw them today, I would buy them again. I also had Monopoly, which was a very good game to play with several people. These were some of my hobbies. My parents also played with me because I had no siblings, and they were always there for me.

Another of my hobbies that I still do is watching television. In those days, there weren't as many channels as there are now, but there were times, such as 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., when they showed good programmes for children. Television has always caught my attention because it's like immersing myself in another world. It's like hundreds of stories that you can watch.
Among other hobbies, I always enjoyed reading stories, motivational books, and history books. My father always bought all kinds of books, especially educational ones with pictures, which really caught my attention, so I could spend time reading them. I think they were part of the fun because there were no phones to steal our time or distract us in any way.

The weekends were the best days because my cousins and I would always get together to play ball, board games, among other things. Volleyball was one of our favourites, and since there were several of us, it made it more fun. We also played a lot of hide and seek, tag, and cat and mouse. There were many of us and many games.
As we grew older, we started playing dominoes with the adults on weekends. This game became one of my favourites in my teens. We played mostly on Sundays with our uncles and could spend the whole afternoon from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. playing. Then friends started joining in, and I remember we would play on Saturday nights from 8 p.m. until dawn at 6 a.m., with a bottle of rum and Coca-Cola. That was playing and lots of laughter. Those were good nights of games.

At that time, I was already at university and another of my hobbies with my university friends was playing pool. I think we went almost every day. As soon as we left university, we would go and play pool and could spend the whole afternoon there. One of my classmates bought a pool table and then we would go and play. Those were days filled with this game, which I remember even dreaming about. I think I had a happy childhood and youth with all these hobbies.
Nowadays, I still watch television, which I think is my most constant hobby, and go to the gym, something I love to do. I also continue to read and, from time to time, play games, not as often as before, but I have games at home to have a good time, such as cards, ludo, bingo, Who Knows More? and, occasionally, billiards when I meet up with my friends from @recreational Games at Hive. We have a great time at these gatherings.
