I live next to two village ponds so I’ve learnt a lot about swans over the years. Along with my neighbour, I’ve saved a few injured ones as well.
I've sometimes held my breath when parents allow their young children near the swans. I don't think they realise how nasty they can be. They look so graceful though.
This heron was standing still ready to catch its unsuspecting lunch.
Blackbirds are funny birds. They have great little personalities. They go through all the pebbles at the side of my flat looking for worms, insects etc. I get up most mornings to find pebbles and leaves all over the pathway. I sweep it back in place only to do the same thing the next day!

I love the swans and they are really graceful but like you I also wonder how parents don't realize the birds can be vicious and let their children close to them. Swans arrive each winter on our coast and stay on the beach. I am looking forward to seeing them again.

Swan is not a bird that we have, grace and large, lovely to learn you have assisted them over the years when in need.
Little black bird moving pebbles sound fascinating, is there any particular reason for pebble hunting?

Thank you @joanstewart. The blackbirds are searching for food underneath the pebbles. Also, they go on the roof and search for food in the moss. I get up every morning to find the birds have thrown the moss on the floor. I then have to sweep it up. At least the roof gets cleaned for free!
