The Dancing Cape Robin-chat (Cossypha caffra): A Shy Friend Hiding in the Thicket

In the early morning hours and throughout the day, two familiar sounds echo in the trees, one of them is the calls of the Cape Robin-chat. But trying to capture photographs of this shy friend is very complicated because they are so agile, quick and love the thicket. I was lucky to capture some photographs of this shy friend! How peculiar is the way they lift their tail feathers? It is almost as if they dance for me. I also just love how beautiful they are. Apparently, the Cape Robin-chat is one of the least colourful Chats. But I think they look like a bandit with a mask on. In any case, please enjoy the photographs of this wonderful and very shy friend!

Here you can see how they lift their tail feathers and then drop it again. It is rather cute!

I add this picture to show the problem of trying to take a photograph of this shy friend! They get lost in the thicket.
