Kingfisher at a tree stump

Kingfishers are probably one of the most colorful birds here in Austria and probably every nature photographer once tries to take some pictures of this bird at least here in Austria, Germany and northern Europe. Because of its beautiful blue and orange colors it can be seen from far away but the bird is pretty shy so it is not so easy to get close enough for some great pictures. So for the kingfishers a lot of photographers use a hide to get close enough. For these pictures I was just laying flat on the ground and had the luck that the bird landed on the tree stump.

This first picture of this article here I also printed and it is one of the pictures that I sometimes exchange with the existing pictures that are curently hanging on my walls. When I think about it I have to do a change of the pictures on my wall some time soon since the same pictures are already hanging for a longer time. But first I need to find some that I like really much to watch every day. But I am sure I will. Maybe at the end of every year is a good time to change a bit around.

How good he is, how beautiful he is! I love these guys.

Yes me too! But first you have to find a branch or another spot that he choosed to use as a hunting ground. Then it is easier to get some pictures of them. And of course their blue / orange color is just great.

Beautiful birds - these kingfishers. 😊

Oh, how cute and colorful is that bird!

I definitely agree.
