Little ringed plover at the river shore in spring

Little ringed plovers are really cute and beautiful birds and I really like them very much. I am already looking forward to take some pitures of them this spring again. I hope I can get as close as in these pictures again. But I know a spot where I can ly down very good in the gravel of the danube and then I just need to wait for them to stop by and come close to me for some pictures. Another thing I really like about these pictures from the last years is the plants that are starting to grow on the dry riverbed here. This only happens when the danube has very low water level and they keep the doors of the water power plant shut long enough. It is so relaxing watching them hunting on the gravel. They run a few meters then they stop again, watch around and run again several meters, when they find something they pick it up with their beak and then they continue running to the next spot.

I know several spots for these birds but the dry riverbed when the power plant is closed is one of the best spots that I know. So I really need to visit this spot near Linz again for some birdphotography this spring and I hope the conditions are as good as on this day in the past here.

Now spring is getting closer and closer and I am already in great anticipation of the bird photography oportunities that come to me this year. Winter is definitely lasting too long here, although I have to admit we only had a view days with very cold weather this year and it was a very warm winter compared to the winters that I used to know in my childhood. Since I also want to try my new Full Frame Camera on some wildlife, but still probably I will use my D500 a lot because of the crop that lets me get closer to the birds with the Zoom. On these pictures I especially like the green grass that started to grow on the dry riverbed and that gives the pictures a lot more spice.

Check it out! I wish you a nice weekend!
@missagora

Dont't be mad at me, but I think it would be a bit too colorful for a background in my opinion. But nice flowers.

There is no reason to be mad. You are the professional here. Have a nice weekend and talk to you soon!🤗
