These pigeons swim in the river in winter

It's already winter on the calendar. Although there is no snow yet, it is already quite cold. During the day, only 3-4 degrees of heat. The temperature drops to zero at night. When I walked past the city beach, I saw a flock of pigeons. They first sat on the sand, and then began to approach the water.
Soon some of them began to enter the water. Other pigeons followed.

It was pretty cool, but it seemed that the pigeons did not feel the cold at all and were splashing merrily in the water.

Some pigeons splashed in the water and came ashore. There they shook off the water and cleaned their feathers.
Then they headed back into the water. Apparently they thought that they had not washed their plumage enough.

I can't even imagine how these birds in such cold weather can freely swim in the river. They splashed in the water like it was a hot summer.

And some of them just sat on the water and sat like that for quite a long time. Then, as if nothing had happened, they came out of the water and looked completely dry.

Some pigeons even tried to dive into the water and doused themselves from head to toe with cold water.

Moreover, they did not disperse, but tried to stick together next to each other. They even huddled together and did not much interfere with each other to plunge into the water.

Finally they bathed and went ashore. But one pigeon so continued to flop in the water and even dived into the water several times. The rest of the pigeons looked with interest at this brave pigeon.
