I honestly believe an animal knows when you are helping them, they might be afraid but understand somehow you are not going to hurt them.
Well, as it was very close to my house, when it flew away, I would scream: Thank you, humannnnnn, when I fly over your car, I promise not to screw it uppppp. xD
