I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. Today's post is on Feathered Friends. The topic of today's post is free topic and i am going to share with you a photographs of vulture birds. Today I will talk to you about vultures. I have presented many vulture photographs to you in today's post. But I am presenting the first photograph of all those photographs as my entry for today's post in Feathered Friends Show Me A Photo Contest Round 227run by @nelinoeva .
If I talk about the vulture, then it is a large bird in terms of body. The vulture is known for its special role in nature. It may not look very beautiful in appearance, but it is very important for the environment. Vultures are found in many parts of the world including India. They usually live in forests, mountains and open land. As I have talked about above, vultures are included in the large birds, as part of which the wings of this bird are also very wide and large. These wings help this bird to fly high and long distances. As can be seen in the photograph above, the head of the vulture is bald and its feathers are very few or there are no feathers at all. This keeps them clean while they eat.
The beak of a vulture is strong and curved. Such a strong beak helps them tear meat easily. The specialty of a vulture is that vultures never hunt animals. Instead, vultures eat dead animals. This quality makes vultures scavengers. This bird cleans nature by removing dead bodies of animals. Which helps in preventing the spread of diseases. Nature has blessed the vulture bird with such a strong stomach that it can even kill harmful insects found in rotting meat.
As can be seen in the first photograph above, a calm and peaceful natural scene is seen in which a vulture is sitting on the edge of the water. This place is a sanctuary. Here there is a vast meadow with dry grass, some green splashes and trees in the background. The vulture is sitting peacefully on the green ground next to the water. It looks like it is resting or waiting to drink water. As I mentioned earlier, the land around the vulture is dry and open. Most of the area is covered with golden brown grass. This type of land is easily found in forests or near water holes. Such places are frequented by wild animals to drink water. In the first photograph above, the water is not stagnant, due to which the reflection in the water is not visible despite the peaceful atmosphere of the place. But the trees in the background add more beauty and greenery to the scene.
There are many types of vultures found in the world. There are three main types of vultures found in India, namely the Indian vulture, the white-rumped vulture and the long-crowned vulture. Sadly, many of these vultures are now in danger of disappearing. Vultures were commonly seen in India in the past. But now the number of these birds has decreased very rapidly. A major reason for which, according to a report, is a chemical called diclofenac used in animals. When vultures eat the dead body of an animal that was given the drug diclofenac, they get sick and die. Other problems include cutting down trees, loss of habitat and eating plastic waste.
But now the government and people have become aware. To protect vultures, the government has banned the use of diclofenac for animals. Many people and wildlife groups are also working to save them by building safe homes and rescue centers for vultures. I also believe that we should respect and protect these birds. So that they can continue their important work in nature. Saving vultures is like saving our environment. With this, I will end my post today.

You know, it's my first time that I am seeing vulture. I heard a lot about it. In South Asian countries, it's stories are really famous that this creature eats dead animals and don't hunt. This specific trait is quite famous of his character.
Now the vulture bird is on the verge of extinction. There are a few birds left which we need to save and protect for our future generations. Thank you very much for visiting my post. @tahastories1
