π¦ The tree pipit (Anthus trivialis)
π Anthus (ancient Greek mythology) Antus, son of Hippodamia, turned into a bird
π Trivialis (lat.) common, simple, banal
This bird is a close relative of the white wagtail familiar to us. And if the white wagtail prefers to live in cities, then the tree pipit is a forest dweller.
I meet them at the beginning of May. And it's hard to see them. I know good places in the forest where I always meet them, I just stop there and watch.
These inconspicuous birds walk on the thawed earth in search of food, and you need to focus to see the slightest movement and stirring.
Indeed, thanks to their coloring, they are simply not visible in the middle of the earth.
And in their free time from searching for food, they spend the mating season. Males actively sing and fly up, demonstrating themselves to females.
