🦉 The common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus)

📚 Phoenicurus Greek: dark red phoinix, oura tail

These bright birds I met everywhere. In mixed forests, in forests near the river, in meadows in early spring, in coniferous forests in autumn, and in recent years they have often begun to settle in the courtyards of cities. Often, passing by the school, I hear the restless voices of a male in the bushes.

This male in the photo caught some insect and rushed about with it, obviously he was not going to eat it, but it was intended for children. Females are not brightly colored, in gray and brown inconspicuous tones.
