🦉 The green sandpiper (Tringa ochropus)

📚 Tringa (Greek) waterbird the size of a thrush in the texts of Aristotle
📚 ochropus Greek: ōkhros buffy, pous leg

Honestly, I have no idea why this sandpiper is called "green". Most likely for the color of the legs.
However, every year I see a small group of these birds near the shoreline along the river. There is a place that is flooded with melt water in the spring, and after the water leaves, a small lake is formed. These Pinocchios roam the shallow water and always find something to eat.

Namely, small crustaceans, small fish of which there are many, aquatic insects and dragonflies near the thickets. And simply, they like to relax there, dry in the sun and put feathers in order.

Эти кулики я вижу, что они всё время заняты поиском еды. Отличное фото.
