🦉 The willow warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus)

  • Phylloscopus Greek: phyllon foliage, skopos seeker, observer
  • trochilus trokhilos (Greek) is a small bird mentioned by Aristotle, later identified as "wren", but in Aldrovandus (1599) it is "a kinglet without a tuft"; trokhalos, trokhiscus (Greek) round, oval, curved, spherical; trochilus (lat.) semicircular, curved

These unremarkable birds arrive around the end of April or beginning of May. But they do this later than their closest relatives - the Siberian chiffchaff. And as soon as the males choose their territory, they begin to sing songs. And their songs are quite beautiful, and somewhat reminiscent of the songs of the common chaffinch.

The bird lives on the lower tier of the forest. It does not fly high and spends almost all its time in low bushes. And as you might guess, the nest is located closer to the ground.

One beautiful thing about nature is that there are still more things to discover and know too.

Красивая весничка. Я бы подумал, что это одна из разновидностей воробья.
Отличное фото.
