🦉 The Eurasian nuthatch or wood nuthatch (Sitta europaea)
- Sitta sittē (Greek) mentioned by Aristotle and other ancient Greek. by the authors of the bird, something similar to the woodpecker
- europaea (lat.) European

This is a very interesting and funny bird to watch. Its main difference from other birds is the ability to move upside down in trees, thanks to the very tenacious claws on its feet. This allows it to find food where other birds physically cannot reach.

You can meet these guys almost anywhere, in any kind of forest. But it is easiest to do this in city parks. There these birds are tame and are happy to eat from people's hands, and even beg for food.
