π¦ The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)
- Emberiza embritz (Old German) bunting
- citrinella citrine (lat.) yellow; citrinella (Italian) yellow bird

These bright birds are few in number in my city, but they are in any forest. In the villages they used to say that "The bunting began to sing - winter began to wane." And indeed, these trills are among the first to be heard at the end of March (and in some regions in February), when there is still snow. Yes, although the bird is a wintering bird, it does not live in my region in winter, it is too cold, but it arrives early.

These birds love open areas with bushes, forest edges, clearings, roadside strips. But sometimes they are found in forests, in bushes. Although these birds are granivorous, they eat insects with appetite in spring and summer, and feed their chicks protein food.
