
🦉 The common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)

- hypoleucos (Greek): - whitish

These small sandpipers arrive in late April or early May, depending on the weather. They can be seen near rivers, swamps, or lakes. However, look at the second photo; it's not so easy to spot them among the trees and logs.

But they're very easy to hear! They have high, loud voices that sound like a dog toy.
