For me, the songs of these singers signify the arrival of full-fledged spring. That's why I like to go "reconnoitering" in the nearest forest in late March or early April to hear their first calls. At this time, only males are still in the forests.
The females arrive later, a few days later. While the females are absent, the males actively occupy and mark their nesting territories. When the females arrive, they select a suitable male.
