Siberian nightingales

🔶The thrush nightingale (Luscinia luscinia), also known as the sprosser

In Russian-speaking countries, he is called "common or eastern nightingale". This is the most popular singer in our forests. Everyone knows about this bird, thanks to references in various songs, including old folk songs and tales. However, few people know what he looks like. And it looks typically "siberian", that is, nondescript, brown and white. I photographed this buddy in the old cemetery where he lives every year. He was out hunting, caught a lunch for the nestlings.

🔶The bluethroat (Luscinia svecica)

The Russian name of this nightingale is not clear to almost anyone, and I can not even translate it into English. His name is very old, and it comes from a very old verb meaning "talking nonsense".
And this name was given to him very accurately. This nightingale loves to collect the voices of birds that live around, mix them together, and get such a song. In the spring I like to find these guys to find out what kind of birds live in this area.

🔶The Siberian rubythroat (Calliope calliope)

Well, here everything is clear. We have the same name for this bird. Like the rest of his brothers, he prefers to live in low bushes. In general, nightingales are very easily attracted to the sounds of their own kind, which can be used to photograph or observe them.

Cute little birds :)

Такие красивые манишки у этих птичек. А у варакушки ещё и галстучек золотистого цвета.

этот подвид называется "рыжезвёздный", северный. Бывают еще и с белыми пятнышками.

fantastic captures :)

@tipu curate

thank you! :)

I heard a common Nightingale sing once while traveling in Portugal and it was something I will never forget. I could hardly believe it was for real.
