🔶The European goldfinch or simply the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

Spring, the time when birds slowly begin to separate from the flocks in which they have been since autumn. And they do this to find a partner and give birth to nestlings. At this time, the forests are filled with bird voices, and walking in nature you involuntarily begin to smile and rejoice after the cold dull winter.
Since the end of summer, these beautiful smart guys are already slowly beginning to form small flocks. First, these are typically family flocks of parents and adolescents, and then other families unite with them.
Even in spring, thanks to the warm sun, the snow melts, and under it many fallen seeds edible for birds thaw, and they often jump in the snow in search of food. And sometimes they eat up old leftovers. As, for example, in the second part of the video, where the goldfinch eats the seeds of an already dried-up burdock.

I was outdoors earlier this week listening to a goldfinch eating thistle seeds. He was very noisy each time he cracked the seed!
