🔶The Eurasian nuthatch or wood nuthatch (Sitta europaea)

We call these birds "creepers/crawlers". Their old names: whirligig, coachman. Sometimes, the name of the bird directly characterizes them. These dexterous guys are constantly crawling through the trees in various directions. There they look for either their own or someone else's stocks.

One autumn I was walking through the forest and saw how these guys searched the trees, but found nothing. I always have some sunflower seeds or peanuts for birds. I scattered the seeds into fallen tree. Nuthatches noticed this and immediately began to gain a full beak of seeds. Yes, they are greedy. They take 2 or even 3 seeds at once at a time. After that, they grind the peel to get the seed, and either eat it or hide it in secluded places.

Amazingly they act with their food the same as the squirrels.
Whatever they don't. or cannot eat they hide!
