🦉 The willow tit (Poecile montanus)

📚 Poecile poikilis (Greek) an unidentified small bird mentioned in ancient texts
montanus (lat .) : mōns, montis mountain, mountain range, montanus mountain

The Russian name of this bird is "Chubby, Fluffy" which accurately reflects her appearance. On cold days, starting in cool autumn, this tit fluffs up very much to keep warm.
The bird is very nimble, she tirelessly jumps along the branches in search of insects and seeds, and sometimes clings to the bark of a tree, opening cracks where it itself, or other species of birds could hide food. Unlike its close relative, the great tit, it rarely appears in cities, with the exception of city parks where there are feeders.

Its name, "Chubby Flubby", is so appropriate, hehehe!
