Here are a few sightings and a bird save for this #featheredfriday
Early in the morning I was walking to work and noticed this guy on the ground. I thought it was dead at first but then noticed it moving. I picked it up and it was completely covered in spider webs.
Right now these guys are all over the building and bridges in Chicago. I suspect the little warbler got caught up in a huge batch of these webs. It took a good 15 minutes to unwrap all the web off the little guy. Then I took it to a green space and it took off.
Usually I find dead and battered birds from hitting the buildings but this time it was the spiders.
Now for a few sightings in the suburbs. Here is a parking lot gull.
I think these seagulls like the parking lots better because they can find all sorts of food here.
Out in the bushes of a forest preserve I saw an Easter Kingbird. I suspect these guys will be flying south soon, but for now the Indian summer has brought out all sorts of bugs for these guys.
Here is a young crow making all sorts of noises. He better beef up before winter hits.
As usual the red wings are everywhere but soon they will have to head south to escape the harsh winter. They are done with their nests for now so they aren't as bad with their dive bombing for now.
The mosquitos got bad again though now that Indian summer is here. It rains a bit then gets hot and a bunch hatch out and bother you again.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
👌
Those tiny birds have so many threats including spider webs.
