This handsome Flicka is sitting in the Locust tree after going up and down the branch looking for insects. Usually, the birds are on the ground scrounging for bugs to eat, but this day I captured him up high in the tree. He is hidden well as he almost blends in perfectly with the branch itself. I can't think when I've seen a flicker in a tree! Usually all I see is the white bum flash as they wing away.
