Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 96

ROUND 96, FREE THEME, this is the 2nd week in a row where all of us bird lovers can be creative and include what our heart desires. For this week's contest, I've included birds that I've highlighted before in the #featheredfriends community, the Black-capped Chickadee.

With the cold weather in full swing here in Upstate New York, it seems as though our feeders are busier than at any other time of the year. Many species of birds have migrated to warmer weather, but not these little fellows. Besides the abundant number of chickadees that know where to find a meal when food is scarce, so do some other creatures. Chipmunks and Red Squirrels are also frequent visitors to our feeders.

It may cost us a little extra $$$ to feed the squirrels and chipmunks, but this time of year has to be hard on them as well. The only concern I have is that when a squirrel decides to raid the bird feeder, it can wreak havoc. As can be seen in this picture the feeder is no longer suspended in the air because the support system that held the feeder came tumbling down.

When either a squirrel or chipmunk is in the feeder the birds will patiently wait for them to leave.

Before leaving the feeder the chipmunk's jowls will be filled to the hilt.

Before I was able to fix the hanger for the feeder I placed it on one of the shelves on the fence.
The birds didn't seem to mind the new location of the feeder as they flew in and out. It's always exciting to catch a bird in flight.

The next day I realized that the feeder had been knocked off of the shelf and that motivated me to rectify the situation. After going into the woods to find a new pole, it only took about half an hour to set things right.

It wasn't long before our four-legged friend returned.

Be careful to only boost new posts! Less than 24 hrs old is best.

Thank you for that information. I have tried to boost several posts by several different authors. The boost goes through and the Ecency points are deducted from my wallet but a few hours later the points are returned to the wallet.
I wonder if boosting the post after it's a few days old has been the problem all along.
I'll try to boost a post that is under the 24-hour mark and see what happens.

You have more visitors, but it is also more exciting to watch them. All the creatures looking for free buffet. 😀
Wonderful post, my friend.

Four legged friends are too cute to chase, how patiently the birds wait looking on a sight we never witness so enjoy capturing and sharing, always waiting to see what happens in foreign lands in your back garden.

I think those four-legged creatures eat as much as the two-legged creatures.

Thank you kindly for the gifts, always appreciated!

As long as they outdoors it's all OK, they are cute to watch!

Squirrels will always find a way to get to the seed. I have many and just let them have their way and the chippies too.

Indeed nature is wonderful. Imagine waiting patiently for the squirrel.

That's one chubby chipper. I think it's a squirrel with a costume on. 😄

Food coma for sure.
