Apart from taking this type of photographs of animals, specifically birds, it has helped me to document myself and learn about this world, between learning about the species of birds and their names, which I really didn't know, I only said it was a seagull, but of course there is a whole terminology to identify these types of species.

Today I set out to investigate, and thanks to the tools of the internet, as the case of the option to search for identical images, I could quickly find the name of this bird, all I did was to mount a picture of mine in google, and came out a lot of photographs with the same species, otherwise it would have been more tedious search, making a detailed search, for which I had to search practically photo by photo some bird similar to my photographs.

Laughing gull, its name is known in common parlance to all, I know that this bird makes some sounds, as if it were a laugh, and to tell the truth I can certify it, while I was taking pictures of some of these birds, they were making these peculiar sounds, but they were not really annoying.

On the other hand, its scientific name is Leucophaeus atricilla, and it belongs to the Laridae family, it is a gull that is present on the coasts of North and South America, especially along the coast and in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. Unfortunately, this bird has no problem feeding on human waste, but obviously it also feeds on small fish, insects and worms.

This type of seagull has no problem getting close to people, as we can see in one of the photographs, and I was also able to witness that this type of seabird can be in a group, and at certain times of the day, they are present to feed. Although they arrived here after the pelicans had left the place, perhaps because it is a much larger bird, it is a great danger even if these seagulls are in a group, as I could also see that they were with their young, who can already fly and are already able to look for their own food.

All pictures are my own and were taken with a Canon T3i camera.
