If it is something you need for work; it's an investment into yourself.
Laptops are so tricky. There's so many factors about them, but MSI is a major brand who not only sells computers, but makes motherboards and graphics-cards.
I've known people who had very good experiences with MSI products.
I do not own anything from Apple, and I am a Linux user on all my computers. That said, the current generation of Macbook Pro with the M4 is the most sensible high quality laptop in my opinion. But that's for me (design, audio, video & virtual machines). I usually run Windows in a VM when I actually need to.
My last 2 brand new laptops were from HP. The first one was plastic, and it started to come apart after years of lugging it around.
So the next one I bought was entirely aluminium case, and then the hinge broke and broke the display. It sucks because it was a great laptop until that happened.
I never ended up replacing it, but luckily I no longer needed to work from a laptop as much.
I currently design, record, and edit on desktops that are all 10 years or older, and I've been holding out thinking prices might come down.
I bought a GPU during the "dark times" which were Covid+crypto mining craze, and I felt so ripped off paying the gouge price after.
A good thing about Linux is it lets me get the most out of older hardware lol.

I'd love to go back to Linux environment once again but the enterprise system I am working with now is all MS. I'd love to do dual boot but man, that was such a chore 😂
My job is full traveling and I wished I had the ability to just use desktop. Maybe one of these days when my financial situation recovers, I'd just get one from home.
