My 3Speaking Today
Hey, what's up, players! First of all, I would like to extend a warm welcome on my behalf to this Geekzone community, to my gaming channel on 3Speak and also to its corresponding post of the day. I am truly glad you're here : ) . Players, today I am pleased to bring to this great geek community a new series that I am starting on my gaming channel on 3Speak, which features as its protagonist this wonderful and unfortunately little-known entry in the Grand Theft Auto saga, that being 'GTA Advance' for the Game Boy Advance. This game puts us in the shoes of Mike, who will begin his adventure trying to escape from the underworld of the great Liberty City (GTA 3D Universe) alongside his friend Vinnie, and all of this from an aerial perspective of Liberty City, in the purest style of the first entries in Rockstar's open-world action saga, but this time with a considerably refreshed feel, and I could even say updated. This is because on this occasion, unlike for example the first entries in the GTA saga, such as GTA 1, London & 2, this GTA Advance feels like a true Grand Theft Auto like the ones we are most familiar with today, that is, the ones that came starting from the third installment. For instance, in this video game we will find features to which we are already very well accustomed in this saga, such as the classic HUD from the third installment, a detailed map on the left side of our screen, a weapon inventory system, and even a fantastic speedometer, something we do not even have in the newer entries of the saga : O . I believe that one of the things that truly overshadowed this fantastic portable entry from Rockstar Games was its release timing, since in addition to the countless delays it suffered prior to its launch, this GTA Advance was released on the exact same day as the titan of the saga that is our also very beloved 'San Andreas'. Finally, this installment came at the hands of developer 'Digital Eclipse' along with some involvement from Rockstar North, in the year 2004 for Nintendo's handheld console.
And so it is that we arrive at this very overcrowded Liberty, one year before (2000) the events of Grand Theft Auto 3 (2001), and alongside Mike, who will be our protagonist in the city that attempts to recreate a New York City of the early 2000's. Everything begins with Vinnie, who is our sidekick in the city of liberty and who asks us, as our first mission, to accompany him to an Italian restaurant belonging to some, let us say, friends of his in order to carry out a meeting, find a fast car and thus manage to flee Liberty City forever alongside him and leave all the old problems behind. However, nothing could be further from the truth, as upon arriving at said Italian restaurant, we quickly realize that it was run by the 'Liberty mafia', to whom Vinnie owed a chain of favors, so to speak. After taking Vinnie to the restaurant, he instructs us to head to our hideout to check that everything is in order, and this is where we are introduced to the classic mechanic of contemporary GTAs in which our hideout is presented to us, the place where we can save the game and even store cars or special items for the mission, as is the case here in GTA Advance.
Finally, continuing with the story, Vinnie asks us to return once again to the restaurant, where he then asks us to head to Ammu-Nation (yes, the saga's classic weapons store) to get a 'Piece', and with it make sure to take out a substance dealer who was occupying a corner belonging to the family in the Trenton area. It is also interesting here how they introduce us to the weapon purchasing mechanic so characteristic of the saga : ) . And well, my friends, with this I bid you farewell for today. I hope to see you in the next episode of this series, and thank you very much in advance for the support of this 3Speak channel. Cheers! ✨😃
