Life is an amazing journey. Decisions. Struggles. Happiness. Success. A series of stories, lessons and even triumphs. It allows people to showcase their full potential and the other side of it. Some of these challenges might create hope, while others cause frustrations and few of it turns dreams into realities. So keep holding on, enjoy the ride, and keep growing.
After graduating college, I got hired as a teacher in a private institution. The passion I loved and cherished. Imparting knowledge to my students while preparing them in the real world. But as time went by, realization hit me. My salary is not enough to suffice my needs and I barely give my parents from my salary.
So, I decided to fly to Cebu, carrying the little money that I have, while applying for a new job. Started from scratch again with no friends, family, relatives but with my big dreams, and an inspiration to provide a better life for my family.
It was not easy. It was tiring and draining but it was worth it. After 2 weeks of juggling and applying, I finally got hired for an office work. It was indeed the happiest moment of my life in Cebu. Aside from that opportunity I also took some part-time jobs so I can sustain my needs and save some for I decided to enroll in a masters degree in guidance and counseling.
Months have passed, my experience allowed me to secure better opportunities. I was luckily hired in an international academy. Where I taught foreign students English language. This institution allowed me to learn new cultures, diversity and embrace changes.
It molded me into a better professional yet I had encountered a problem later on
It hinders me from the professional development I was trying to achieve. It's an online based job and is a bit demanding of my time, it came to a point that it conflicts with my class schedules.
So, as a woman streghtened by faith and fueled by dreams, I took a leap of faith to explore new work opportunities to prioritize my educational endeavor. Maybe, that's the reason why people call me a strong independent woman, but little did they know behind that courageous soul is a lonely confused spirit.
Thankfully, while trying to find my purpose I landed another office job for the government. Particularly in the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Working outside my comfort zone was kind of exciting. No clues, no what ifs. I managed to enjoy my roller coaster journey in the government while pursuing my graduate studies.
On weekends, I do some sidelines, I cook delicious pastry goods, I do online jobs (English tutor) and even sell little things so I can pay my tuition fee and earn extra allowance.
Working in a national agency was never easy too, yet it was the best decision I have made especially during COVID-19. It was stable and secure. It allowed me to learn more about community, policies and love for the country.
But life seems to have more surprises coming for me. One morning, a classmate of mine introduced me to a new path. The business industry. It was a networking business. The risk taker that I am, of course I accepted the challenge, believing that it could help me provide a better and stable life to my family.
I invested everything, my time, effort, knowledge and even left my job for it. In the first phase of my business journey, I was able to enjoy it, develop my skills and inspire others to dream more. But as time went by, I started to feel empty, to the extent that I could no longer understand my goals. My priorities changed. I was hooked at earning more. Then, typhoon Odette happened and realizations came in. Right then and there, I left that world empty and broken. Going through unbearable circumstances, my life changed in 360 degrees to be exact, and suffered from severe anxieties.
Months later, I decided to go home. Started a new life, embraced slow pace living in the countryside, gained new knowledge and tried another business. A wholesale business but failed again. A painful venture that led me to farming.
Starting a new life in the countryside had never been easy. It's a mix of adjustments, worries and hesitations always there. But I conquered my fear and started to embrace goat farming, indulged into carabao feeding and raising chickens. I ventured in planting and growing vegetables to achieve sustainable living. I also applied intercrop farming, to produce more of it.
Little did I know, that habit introduced me to my baking era that served as my source of income while enjoying province life. Utilizing organic ingredients available in the farm I was able to create tasty pastries that were loved by many. An achievement I'm very proud of. Truly, struggles can redirect us to miracles.
As I continued my life in the countryside, I discovered the beauty of freelancing. Working in the comfort of my own home while enjoying more time with my family. Indeed, a work-life balance. I can work while doing the things I love, something that I am really grateful for.
Somehow , choosing your passion over your profession is never wrong. In fact, I am now currently enjoying work life balance as a freelancer, farmgirl, baker and a traveller. So, sometimes in life, you just have to spread your wings, take detours and accept redirections to make a difference.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to @chinito for onboarding me and @Antonette for helping me on this journey especially in creating my Hive account. Allowing me to share my journey to inspire people, impart my knowledge and share my experiences through this platform.

Wow! So young, but so much work (and life) experience you have! It's easy to be smart from the comfort of the sofa, but you were out there, exploring different places, different jobs, and I'm happy to see that you found the way of life that you like the most... It's funny how we think we will find better living somewhere far away from our home, but in the end, we go back and even more appreciate the easy way of living in the countryside...

Thank you so much for appreciating the beauty of my roller coaster journey. It is my best interest to inspire people to appreciate life outside their comfort zones. Life can be a crazy ride at times,but it doesn't have to be as difficult as we thought. Sometimes, we just need to go with the waves of life so we can discover what true happiness is. Simple joys comes from emotional, mental, and physical acceptance of reality.
