Hello, Hive Family/Filipinos Of Hive Community! I just want to share what happened next after my visit to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Marilao, Bulacan. I hope you’ll take time reading my blog as I’m still starting to regain my passion in writing and at the same time, I’m still in the midst of my healing journey. I’m open to criticisms and suggestions. 😊
So, here we go. Right after a two-hour visit to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy with my boyfriend, we headed to SM City Marilao for lunch. The shrine had left me feeling lighter, a sense of relief I hadn’t felt in weeks. Grief has a way of clinging to your spirit, but that sacred space gave me a moment to breathe.
Then came the unexpected challenge: finding a place to eat.
We roamed around the mall, scanning every food chain. Mang Inasal, our usual favorite, had no seats available, not even one. The food court had vacant tables, but somehow none of the stalls called to us. It was as if our hunger was picky or maybe we were just overwhelmed by the crowd.
Eventually, we landed at KFC. The line was manageable, and we ordered through the machine, got our number, and waited. Thirty minutes passed before our food arrived. By then, we were starving, so much so that I forgot to take a photo of the chicken, KFC’s specialty! I snapped a few rushed shots, but the star of the meal was missing. Hunger does funny things.

By the way, while waiting, my boyfriend and I talked, not just about food, but about my healing journey. He asked where I wanted to go next on my “Exploring Bulacan” list. I told him I wanted to visit more churches, especially the historical ones. Amusement parks can wait. Right now, I’m drawn to places that offer peace and reflection.
After lunch, we headed home. My fur baby Cardo was probably waiting for his own meal, tail wagging and eyes full of expectation.
This day reminded me that healing isn’t always solemn. Sometimes, it’s found in crowded malls, long lines, shared laughter, and the quiet support of someone who walks beside you, even when all you’re doing is choosing where to eat.
If you’re on your own healing journey, know that it doesn’t have to be dramatic or perfect. It can be messy, slow, and even funny at times. Whether you find comfort in a quiet church, a crowded food court, or a simple meal with someone who cares, every step counts. Keep going. Grace meets us in the most unexpected places.
Thank you so much for reading! I will try to write my blog/s on a daily basis because writing is really my first love. Stay safe, Hive Fam! 😊
