Awesome job on this one, I see you chose the Back to the Future theme too! lol I don't know how you managed to turn a cymbal inside out, you must have been pumping too much iron in the gym before band! I had forgotten about Walk the Dinosaur altogether, dressing up like Fred must have been fun. High School parties were over rated anyway, I had much more fun college than I ever did in high school!
Haha, well, I totally missed the boat on college too. I lived with my parents and commuted back and forth to one of the local universities! These were some good times and the love of music has always stayed with me in all forms! I miss playing sometimes, but I know I would be totally rusty now.
We need to see photos of you in the band. What were the uniforms like? We don't have that scene here, but I see it in some movies, especially in Drumline. I could be up for trying some more formal drumming like that some time. You really need to be sharp on your technique. I have the Stick Control book that has lots of exercises, but I've not done much of it yet. Maybe I should work through some with my new teacher.
Ah Marching band... I remember those days well. I'm impressed you remember one of the cadences you did. There is something to those, though, isn't there? I don't remember a single song we played in marching band — even though during the summer we were practicing them for 8 hours every single day — but I oddly remember one of the drum cadences so well that I've randomly found myself hand drumming it on the table sometimes when bored. And I didn't even play drums!
Haha, that is funny. We had a handful of cadences. I can still probably do a couple of them if I tried really hard. This one had some crazy rolls in between beats that I don't know if I could replicate even if I shook the cob webs off!
I never knew you were a musician, I knew of your love for music but this was cool hearing about your school days. Snake Bite is a drink over here, used to be popular back in the day, infact something us schoolboys liked as it had a kick lol.
Yeah, I was in band for about six or seven years. I never learned to read music though. I still haven't learned to play guitar either, but I can play a triangle like a mother!

You asked for it....
Excellent! You look like you mean business.
Sounds something great! Seems like you must have enjoyed your high school days amongst the instrument well!
Yes, it was a long long time ago now though!
