Car Engine Briefed

An engine is a machine that converts energy into mechanical motion or work. In the context of vehicles, an engine is a type of internal combustion engine that generates power to propel the vehicle forward.

Hello Everyone it's @kelismart here explaining how engine work

How Engines Work

  1. Fuel Combustion: Fuel (gasoline or diesel) is burned inside the engine, producing energy.
  2. Piston Movement: The energy generated by combustion moves pistons up and down.
  3. Crankshaft Rotation: The piston movement is converted into rotational energy by the crankshaft.
  4. Power Transmission: The rotational energy is transmitted to the wheels, propelling the vehicle forward.

How do they actually achieve combustion.

These 4 words

Intake
Compress
Combust
Exhaust

Let me Explain.

The engine takes in air and fuel when the piston first moves downwards. When the piston goes up again, it compresses the air creating heat. The spark plugs release spark and burns the fuel then the exhaust valve opens and let the combusted air go.

That☝🏾 is to say that engine use 4 strokes to make your car move. Except 2 stroke engine found in dirt bike.

Key Components

  1. Cylinder Block: The main structure housing the pistons and crankshaft.
  2. Pistons: Move up and down, transferring energy to the crankshaft.
  3. Crankshaft: Converts piston movement into rotational energy.
  4. Camshaft: Regulates valve opening and closing.
  5. Valves: Control airflow and fuel injection.

Types of Engines

  1. Inline Engine: Cylinders are arranged in a straight line.
  2. V-Engine: Cylinders are arranged in a V shape.
  3. Boxer Engine: Cylinders are arranged in a flat, horizontal plane.

Engines are used in various applications, including vehicles, generators, and industrial machinery.

That's very little on engine.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
